Payment and Agreement Information:
Over the years and many projects these are the items most often of concern for you and me...so, IÕve written them up and all is open to discussion if not clear and adjustable before project starts based on individual circumstances.
**At the end of the project Be It Now! will supply the client with two CDs, one for the printer and one for their files or posted zip of all files for download per clients request. Client will send Be It Now! (BIN) one copy of printed book for BIN files and releases use of book design to BIN for use in BIN promotional materials and website. If BIN designs only the cover, please have backcover credit read : Cover design by www.KarrieRoss.com and if BIN does only the Interior design, have the credit on the copyright page read Interior design by www.KarrieRoss.com and if BIN does both cover and interior please place credit on both backcover and copyright page stating: Book design by www.KarrieRoss.com.
Any estimates requested for additional pricing are good for at least 30 days from date given. Price quoted applies only if project proceeds on a continuous basis, no stops or put-offs. Although this is rare I need to mention it, once project begins, any delays not mentioned may result in additional charges. If a project takes longer than 90 days, there may be an additonal charge.
The client understands and agrees that their project cannot be accomplished without their involvement and they will do their best and participate and proof as necessary to help move project to speedy completion so any deadlines are met. Time to allow for basic cover is 1 - 2 weeks, custom cover 2-3 weeks and for interior allow 3 - 4 weeks (doesnot include weekends). When cover and interior are done at the same time allow 3-5 weeks. Each job is different and time to allow is determined by what your job needs, we'll discuss your deadline and work towards it.
Interiors: Over the years programs have been becoming more and more compatible, however, please understand that the conversion of between programs (such as MS Word documents) and computer formats can still cause characters to import incorrectly, such as fractions, and footnotes and may need to be retyped on the first proofing. Charts and tables also can cause situations to occur when they are converted. I do my best to trouble shoot it for you but I'm not perfect and appreciate your patience if these situations occur. Please be sure all manuscripts are accurately proofed and edited before sending. If you have lists, and images you may need to tag them before sending the manuscript as pre-sets for lists donÕt always convert. The tag is simple ie: ******start (end) numbered list here****** or *******(image name) here*******. In the rare case it is necessary to rework the files after initial interior layout: Multiple editing changes such as addition of more than just one word here or there more like complete paragraphs causing page restructuring of content or illustrations after formatting has begun may result in additional charges. All additional changes are billed at $175 per hour min. on issues that arise while project is in progress. Client will receive notification if there might be any additional charges for their approval before requested changes are made.

Any additional charges approved during project will be billed at the end $175 per hour min. Photo retouching priced based on what is to be done. Some additional charges might be: covers - proofs beyond the two included, additional photos beyond the one included; on interiors -multiple text insertions after formatting has been started and proofs/corrections beyond the two included (not more than 25 changes, any additional beyond the 25 are charged for) multiple photos / graphs or charts, placement of text box pull-outs. Client certifies they own the copyrights to, or have permission to use, any copy/manuscript and images supplied.
Creative is a taxable item if you are a California resident and a 9.75% sales tax will be applied as necessary unless you supply me with your CA Resale number. Please request I send you the CAResaleCert form to fill out and send back.
Be It Now! is responsible for making the cover, interior, marketing materials or website as work-for-hire, based on discussions and what is ordered and paid for unless something happens to prevent the project from continuing. Client is responsible for payment of agreed upon original and any approved additional charges and all final proofing. When payment is made with check, credit card or online payment such as PayPal¨ no reversal of payment can be initiated without proper arbitration or BIN approval, no law suits. Any price changes will be discussed. In the rare case that client is not happy with work at any point, there will be a discussion between the two parties to determine best way to finish project to benefit all concerned. Once any part is approved and work done, all payments will reflect this work. Upon receipt of final payment the two CDs will be released to client. Be It Now! canÕt guarantee storage of files, once CDs or zip download are received, keep them safe! Rush charges of 100% may be applied if client requests to shorten the stated timeline. This agreement is confidential and only meant for the viewing of the client named. BIN will not reveal confidential information entrusted to them by a client to any third party. This includes manuscript material and/or financial information acquired in the course of our transaction. Client sign off/email/fax approval releases Be It Now! from any further responsibility beyond first printing availability to printer to be sure files are up to their specs. Custom cover allows for a certain number of images to be purchased base on image viewing and discussion, if client wants more images client absorbs the costs. Client agrees to photo terms of use stated at photo sites, gettyimages.com, bigstockphoto.com, istockphoto.com, photodisc.com, fotosearch.com and any other sites used for their book imagery, it is preferred that client opens their own account for the images to be purchased through. Testimonials and excerpts from coaching/consulting sessions may be used as content, research, faq etc on website or products. Client retains exclusive rights to work done (except for allowing BIN to use cover image and interior layout for promo and website) once final payment is received for agreed work. Be It Now! reserves the rights to modify or change any ways-of-doing-business statements above without notice.
